Forklift Safety and Pedestrian Path Marking Signage

Forklift traffic accidents are a major concern for many companies, many facilities, many industries. Proper training that is permanently reinforced by safety signs is key to reducing risk in this area. Oftentimes sign clutter is the order (disorder) of the day. Now is the time to replace the disorganized, hodge-podge appearance of your forklift safety rules with an easy-to-understand Clarion composite sign that clearly designates the rules of the road for forklifts in your plant. Your new Clarion sign will combine the in-plant traffic signs into a single sign, logically arranged providing a simple, uncluttered means to communicate traffic rules to all forklift operators.

Likewise, employees and visitors should have foot traffic signage that clearly designates safe paths and effectively warns them of the danger of forklifts.

Clarion's floor-mounted path marking signs represent a significant leap forward in path marking because we use the internationally accepted safety symbol for communicating the danger of forklift traffic. We have formatted the word message using straight-line text rather than wrapping it in a circular pattern (circular text is difficult to read at a glance - which is all of the time most people give to a floor marking sign).

Option One places the symbol and word message on to an ISO "Mandatory Action" colored blue circular safety sign. The word messages for these signs tell the viewer to obey a message; so using the ISO-defined color/shape for mandatory action makes sense for this series of signs.

Option Two are signs that incorporate ANSI Z535/ISO risk-defining signal words (WARNING or CAUTION) and include the safety alert symbol to communicate the possibility of personal injury. Both of these signs use properly color-coded backgrounds to match the signal word (i.e. orange for WARNING, yellow for CAUTION).

You will notice that our designers have also added the STOP and YIELD signs as additional options for your consideration.

Clarion's floor signs are produced on premium grade 3M adhesive-backed material intended for both long-term adhesion and easy "no-mess" peel-up (which helps when the signs need to be replaced). A specially formulated slightly-textured slip resistant 3M overlaminate is added to help protect the graphics from wear.

Note that all of our floor-mounted signs are round so they are less susceptible to edge peel-up (corners are usually the first point of adhesion failure).
