Stairwell Identification Signs

It's important to know where you are and where you're going in an emergency situation. These signs eliminate confusion and reinforce the continued movement of people up or down a stairwell to reach the final exit.

Stairwell Identification Signs

Properly formatted Stairwell Identification Signs are mandated by the NFPA codes, the International Building Code, and for government buildings by the GSA. Their function is to clearly orient people so they always know where they are when navigating your building's stairwells...and this is never more important than in an emergency situation. Confusion leads to hesitation which leads to lost time, and time is what can mean the difference between life and death. Clarion's signs are manufactured to the minimum code mandated size of 12" x 18" and use text sizes that meet or exceed all three codes' requirements.

A Note On Customization

All of Clarion's Stairwell Identification Signs are custom produced to meet your exact specifications. "NO ROOF ACCESS", different stairwell and floor numbering schemes, different discharge information, different colors…all can be designated by you so your signs perfectly fit your building, your evacuation plans, and your training program. Note that we strongly encourage you choose to use Clarion's GLOCORE safety grade photoluminescent material when you purchase these signs so this critical information can be communicated to your people even in power-out conditions.
