Arc Flash Safety Labels
Every four minutes in the U.S. an arc flash occurs. Shock, electrocution,
arc flash, and arc blast are responsible for one fatality every workday
in the U.S. and some 8,000 workers are treated in emergency rooms for
electrical contact injuries each year, according to the NFPA.
These Clarion labels meet the National Electrical Code's requirements
for identifying and instructing personnel on arc flash hazards.
Based on our experience, we have developed two types of arc flash labels.
The first are those that we design and produce for equipment manufacturers,
which are meant to convey "arc flash hazard" in a general manner and call
for wearing appropriate PPE. The second type of arc flash labeling is applied
in the field after an arc flash hazard assessment study. Each field in the label
can be customized for safe working boundaries, exact PPE to be worn, and so on.
