Battery Charging Station Safety Signs

Battery charging rules, as outlined by OSHA, are numerous, and here's why: the process of charging batteries causes the release of gases, making it critical to avoid sparking or open flames. Make sure your staff knows the rules. Proper signs will support your own training.

Here are some of the OSHA sections where signs are called for:

Battery charging installations shall be located in areas designated for that purpose.

1910.178(g)(10)

Smoking shall be prohibited in the charging area.

1910.178(g)(11)

Precautions shall be taken to prevent open flames, sparks, or electric arcs in battery charging areas.
