Clarion researches domestic and international standards and notifies us of changes—often months or years ahead of time, giving us time to adjust our inventory accordingly. Because of their ongoing involvement with the ANSI Z535 committee, we feel confident about revising our entire label line under their guidance. It is difficult to find useful information on the European Conformity (CE) marking process. But our contacts at Clarion gave us specific details about the safety labels used on our machine. When it was tested for compliance, not only did the decals and operations manuals pass, but the inspector made a special note that it was one of very few machines he had inspected that didn't require corrections.
Clarion's designers and translators work with our staff to develop labels that we can use throughout our product line, as well as the product lines of our sister companies. This has allowed us to significantly reduce labels in our inventory.
We put Clarion's labels on some test products and put these in a shipping container in south Florida. After several months, we found the labels still firmly attached to our test subjects, despite hurricane-force winds and hot, steamy weather. I'd say that Clarion labels are "hurricane rated.”
