ASSE Foundation and Clarion Partner to Promote Safety Education

Posted by Bethany Stadelmann | 21st May 2014

Here at Clarion, we take education seriously – whether its aiding our customers in their efforts to provide safer products and workplaces through our standards-compliant signs and labels, or offering continued education on best practices in warnings to the safety community.

That's why we're excited to share an update on one of our efforts to support educational opportunities that pave the way for future safety communications professionals: the Clarion Safety Systems Doctoral Scholarship.

This annual scholarship is the result of an ongoing partnership with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and its Foundation, organizations that share Clarion's commitment to protecting people and making workplaces safer. Each spring, through the ASSE Foundation Scholarship and Professional Education Grant program, the Clarion Safety Systems Doctoral Scholarship is awarded to an aspiring safety communication professional pursuing a doctoral degree in occupational safety and health.

We're pleased to announce that the Clarion Safety Systems Doctoral Scholarship has a new recipient for 2014: Marie-Claude Lavoie. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland's Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, and her credentials include work focused on occupational health in Latin America and the Caribbean. Congratulations, Marie-Claude, and best wishes for your career in occupational safety and health!
