Choose a Symbol, Add Your Message, Pick Your Material
The Custom Product Designer runs in your browser. There is no software to install, no design file to submit, and no proof cycle to wait through for standard configurations.
Step 1: Choose Your Symbol
Select from our library of ISO & ANSI compliant symbols and best practice inspired designs, sorted by hazard alerting, prohibition, and mandatory action. These are the same registered symbols we supply to equipment manufacturers, not generic clip art approximations. You can also build a text-only label where a symbol would not add clarity.
Step 2: Add Your Message
Enter up to three lines of text. Effective hazard messages name the hazard, state the consequence, and tell the reader how to avoid it. A label reading "High Voltage" identifies a hazard. A label reading "High voltage inside. Contact will cause death. Disconnect power before opening." does the job the standard expects.
Step 3: Select Size and Material
Choose from our most-ordered sizes and materials, all rated for industrial and outdoor use. Match the material to the surface and the environment rather than to the size of the label. Solvent exposure, UV, surface texture, and temperature range all affect which substrate holds. Full specifications are in our safety label materials guide.

Match the Signal Word to the Severity, Not the Urgency
Our templates are organized by signal word because that choice drives the rest of the label. Signal words are defined in ANSI Z535.4, and each one maps to a specific severity level.
- DANGER: a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in serious injury or death. Its use should be limited to the most extreme situations.
- WARNING: a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or death.
- CAUTION: a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
- NOTICE: information considered important but not directly hazard-related.
The distinction that trips people up is DANGER versus WARNING. Both cover death or serious injury, so severity alone will not separate them. The difference is certainty: DANGER is for situations where exposure to the hazard will produce the outcome, WARNING is for situations where it could. Applying DANGER to a hazard that merits WARNING weakens every DANGER label on the machine, because operators learn to discount the panel that should stop them.

When the Designer Fits, and When to Request a Quote
