Standards and Compliance
Though many recognize the familiar CE mark symbol with its uniquely half-circle C and E, few are aware of what it is and what it means. It is a certification mark found on certain products that signifies a met standard of safety, health, and environmental protection.
Within European Union member states, or for trading in the European Economic Area and European Free Trade Association countries, most products are mandated to have a Conformité Européenne (CE) mark present. Failure to label a product with required markings could result in it being permanently shelved in addition to costly fines and penalties.
Manufacturers are responsible for verifying that their products meet the EU requirements for safety, health and the environment. As it relates to CE, they must carry out a conformity assessment, maintain technical files, complete an EU Declaration of Conformity and affix the CE mark to their product.

Materials
A label’s performance is only as good as the materials that go into its manufacture. This label can be printed on your choice of Clarion Safety’s indoor polyester (our ‘P’ material), outdoor polyester (our ‘B’ material) or anodized aluminum (our ‘T’ material). Our P and B materials are designed with 3M premium polyesters, and our T material features 3M high temperature acrylic adhesive. All materials are compliant with RoHS, CRoHS and REACH standards. They’ve been developed and tested to be resistant to abrasive chemical washdowns, water, heat and strong ultraviolet light. Here are a few more details (please see our material data sheets for additional technical information):
- Indoor polyester (P): provides excellent chemical resistance and performs best in temperatures from -40 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Outdoor polyester (B): offers excellent chemical resistance and performs well in temperatures from -40 to 175 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Anodized Aluminum (T): offers excellent chemical resistance and performs well in temperatures from -40 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

The labels are good quality
The labels are good quality and adhere well. Price was less than expected, but still a little high. Shipping was fast.

We had been using labels
We had been using labels from another supplier. They were 1"X1" labels without the black-line square around the letters. Those labels were cancelled without a recommended replacement. These labels from Clarion (0.75"X0.75" with a black-line square) work just fine. Please do not cancel them.
