Restricted Access Signs for Security, Safety and Site Control
Restricted access signs define who may enter an area and put your access policies in writing at the point of entry. Some restrictions protect property and information; others keep people away from genuine hazards. Clarion Safety's restricted area signs use the latest OSHA/ANSI Z535.2 formats and ISO-standardized symbols so the restriction, and the reason behind it, is understood by employees, contractors and visitors. Common messages include Authorized Personnel Only, Do Not Enter, No Unauthorized Access and Employees Only, with custom options for your exact policy language.
Choosing the Right Signal Word for a Restricted Area
The signal word should reflect why the area is restricted:
- NOTICE for policy-based restrictions with no injury hazard, such as security, privacy or operational areas - see our notice signs
- DANGER or WARNING when a hazard exists beyond the entry point, with the severity matched to the risk under the ANSI Z535 standards - see our danger signs
Using DANGER on a purely administrative restriction dilutes the word's meaning across your whole facility; using NOTICE where a real hazard exists understates the risk. Getting this right keeps every sign in the building credible. Related categories include security signs and door, gate and enclosure signs.
