Learn About Emerging Product Safety Trends at the University of Wisconsin's 2021 Virtual Conference
Posted by Clarion Safety Systems | 7th Sep 2021
Join us at the University of Wisconsin’s 33rd Annual Product Liability Conference, which takes place later this month and includes a session from Clarion Safety. Rather than the traditional in-person conference, in order to better protect the health of attendees and presenters during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will be virtual through UW Madison’s Zoom. Don’t miss this chance to attend, expanding your knowledge!
A Focus on Product Liability Prevention Best Practices – and
Emerging Trends
The conference is designed for product safety and risk management professionals
that work with industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers, as well as
insurance providers. That includes product safety managers, risk managers,
product development managers, design engineers, technical writers, and
attorneys. The conference runs from September 20th to 23rd. It’s an abbreviated
version of the usual in-person conference, specifically designed to provide
valuable information on key topics in product liability, while still allowing
attendees time to go about their day-to-day business needs. The conference will
have seven live presentations, delivered from 9-11:30 AM CDT. Attendees earn
professional development hours (PDH) and continuing education units (CEU’s).
Clarion Safety: A Featured Expert on On-Product Warnings for Domestic
and Global Markers
Clarion Safety’s director of standards compliance, Angela Lambert, will be one
of this year’s presenters, with a session on on-product warnings best
practices. “Failure to warn” and “inadequate warnings” continue to top today’s product
liability allegations. Angela will present key elements of labels and
instructions as defined by the ANSI Z535.4 and ISO 3864-2 standards, and
noteworthy trends in creating effective warnings for U.S. and international
use. The discussion will include the most recent standards updates, and those
anticipated in 2022, as well as risk management and label format options.
Angela’s background includes over fifteen years of experience in the field of
warnings and liability, including involvement at the leadership level in the
ANSI and ISO standards. She’s chair of ANSI Z535.1, the standard that focuses
on colors used in visual safety communication, as well as a delegate
representative to ANSI for the ISO/TC 145 SC2 WG 1 committee, responsible for
the library of ISO 7010 registered symbols and the ISO 3864 set of standards.
A
Not-To-Be-Missed Product Safety Opportunity
Other topics of discussion at this year’s conference will include: risk
documentation, engineering and human factors, product safety management systems
and more. We hope to see you there, and in the meantime, for the latest on
compliance and standards information, keep in mind that you can visit Clarion
