Reducing Risk, Protecting People

Clarion and ASSE

ASSE logo

Clarion has been a long-time member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the oldest professional safety organization committed to protecting people, property and the environment.

As part of our active participation in ASSE, Clarion’s CEO, Geoffrey Peckham, has been a featured speaker at the 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014 annual professional development conferences. His presentations have consistently helped to keep the profession up-to-date with safety sign, safety label and safety marking best practices. He has also authored numerous industry articles for ASSE publications including columns for the ASSE Professional Safety Journal and frequent contributions to the technical publications of ASSE’s Practice Specialties; groups that allow ASSE members to share their knowledge and exchange best practices with other industry experts through forums, webinars and newsletters. In 2013, Mr. Peckham received the “Safety Professional of the Year” award by ASSE’s Manufacturing Practice Specialty, recognized for his article contributions and for his leadership in advancing safety standards for the manufacturing industry.

As a company, Clarion has been a sponsor of several ASSE initiatives, including partnering with the ASSE Foundation to fund an annual $5,000 scholarship for post-graduate study in the field of safety. In a very real sense, this is our way of giving back to the profession – paving the way for future safety communication professionals. Beginning in April 2012, the Clarion Safety Doctoral Scholarship has been awarded each year to a full-time student pursuing a doctoral degree in occupational safety and health.
