AFIA Equipment Manufacturers Conference 2023: Tackling Feed Industry Challenges

31st Aug 2023 Clarion Safety Systems

We’re happy to announce that we’re a proud sponsor of the American Feed Industry Association’s (AFIA) upcoming Equipment Manufacturers Conference (EMC), being held from November 8-10, 2023 in Tucson, AZ, at the Omni Tucson National Resort.

About AFIA and the EMC
AFIA is the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to representing the business, legislative, and regulatory interests of the U.S. animal food industry and its suppliers. And, they’re also one of our long-time safety industry partners. We’re pleased to once again be a part of the EMC, an educational event designed to address the issues of today’s equipment designers, builders, installers, and users who serve the feed, pet food, and ingredient industries. The event is sure to be packed with important safety insight throughout its daily events and discussions.

Labor and Supply Chain Issues in the Feed Industry
This year’s event will have a main focus on the future of labor and supply chain issues within all steps of the food process. This includes a focus on customer and vendor relationships and future practices that businesses should consider in a post pandemic environment. For workplace professionals, there are also sessions on building safety cultures within organizations as well as industry recruiting best practices. Of special interest on day three will be a session focused on ISO/TC 293, which focuses on the standardization of additive manufacturing (3D printing). All proceeds from the event go towards the EMC scholarship fund, which focuses on scholarships for furthering education for future professionals in the feed industry.

A Long-lasting Partnership in Safety
Here at Clarion Safety, we’ve been a longstanding safety partner of AFIA. Effective warning labels and safety signs are critical in the feed industry where interaction between people and machinery is frequent, making the potential for injury possible. In 2008, the organization utilized our expertise to overhaul its safety label program, giving AFIA members access to a catalog of state-of-the-art labels designed specifically for their feed and grain equipment needs. Our workplace safety sign system product line is also offered to AFIA members, as well as 5 pack labels for facilities looking to retrofit older equipment with up-to-date labels.
