Code 39 barcode labels can be used for transportation, such as for labelling shipping containers, as well as for distinguishing inventory or identifying name badges. They are one of the most commonly used types of labels and were first created in 1974. The code 39 barcode includes the numbers 0 through 9, the uppercase letters of the English alphabet, and the use of special characters such as the hyphen, period, dollar sign, percentage sign, slash, plus sign and space. You can read a barcode 39 with a simple barcode scanner. The barcode manifests as 5 bars and 4 spaces in between of varying width.
